I’ve never been one to make a big deal out of Valentine’s Day. I don’t expect gifts from my husband and I know he doesn’t expect anything from me. However, if there was ever a year to take any given holiday up a notch, this would sure be the one. This gift guide is collection of things that I would love to get and love to give and they are all simple, affordable items from my favorite brands. And let’s be clear, you don’t need a sweetheart to celebrate; there’s a reason the new term “galentine’s day” has become so popular. It’s fun to treat yourself, your closest girlfriends or even a pre-teen/teen daughter. What will we be doing on Valentine’s Day? The same thing we do every year: A cozy day/night at home. It’s on a Sunday so maybe we’ll make something special for dinner and have a cocktail. We save our dinner dates for other special occasions like anniversaries and birthdays. I typically buy the kids some chocolate a couple of little things (I’m always amazed what I can find during a CVS trip). It’s always super low key!

I know I would also love going for a walk, doing a little baking, exchanging foot rubs, watching a movie and eating a nice some-cooked dinner. No matter what you decide to do, make sure you take care of yourself too. You don’t have to go crazy making everything perfect. Sometimes the simplest gestures mean the most.
