Find Your Favorite Cleansing Balm From These Four Clean Beauty Brands

I’m relatively new to the world of cleansing balms but I have absolutely fallen in love with how well they melt away makeup, oil and dirt without stripping skin. Cleansing balms use a blend of skin-friendly oils to gently cleanse but also moisturize, nourish and protect skin. The balm starts out solid but then easily melts into your skin to do its work. Many people use a follow-up cleanser but those with dry, sensitive or eczema-prone skin may opt to use only a cleansing balm since it is so gentle. I tend to change how I use a balm depending on the season; in the colder, drier months I use just a balm and then warmer, humid months I follow up with a deeper cleanser. They can also be used as an overnight mask, softening cuticles and as an occasional moisturizer for dry patches. I love a multi-tasking product! As you’ve probably guessed, there are SO many options available now. I’ve picked only four from my favorite brands.

Beautycounter Counter+ Lotus Glow Cleansing Balm - This is the first balm I tried because I was a consultant at the time and was able to get a good discount. It is amazing and such a great multi-tasking product, it’s one of Beautycounter’s best selling products for a reason! Formulated with a blend of oils and botanical extracts to cleanse, soften and brighten skin. It’s pricey but a little does go a long way. Beautycounter Counter+ Lotus Glow Cleansing Balm $79.

100% Pure Blood Orange Cleansing Balm - Formulated with blood orange to gently remove excess oil and coconut and olive oils to remove stubborn makeup. I’m currently using this cleansing balm and loving it. It’s not too heavy, takes makeup off effortlessly and a little goes a long way! 100% Pure Blood Orange Cleansing Balm $38. Depending on the humidity levels and state of my skin, I do sometimes follow up with Beautycounter’s Charcoal Cleansing Bar for a deeper clean.

Odacite Le Blue Balm - Specifically formulated for mature, dry, irritated and/or sensitive skin. Contains blue chamomile and squalane to soothe and repair. It also contains shea butter, hemp, jojoba and almond oils for supreme moisturizing benefits. Odacite Le Blue Balm $48.

True Botanicals Ginger Turmeric Cleansing Balm - Formulated with cucumber seed oil, turmeric and ginger root to calm and fight dullness as well as yucca extract to cleanse and nourish and finally lactic and azelaic acid to gently refine skin. Good for rosacea, redness and uneven, rough skin. Highly rated and many customer reviews. True Botanicals Ginger Turmeric Cleansing Balm $48.
